Different contents of spheroidizers
The magnesium content of 4%, 5%, and 5.5% belongs to low-magnesium nodulizers, and RE is between 1% and 2%. It is mostly used for medium-frequency furnace smelting and spheroidization treatment of low-sulfur iron liquid. It has the advantages of gentle spheroidization reaction and easy and full absorption of spheroidizing elements.
The magnesium content of 6% and 7% belongs to the medium-magnesium series nodulizers, which are mostly used for cupola and electric furnace double smelting, or medium-frequency furnace smelting pearlite cast ductile iron castings. According to the wall thickness of the casting and the sulfur content of the original molten iron, the appropriate amount of nodulizer is determined, which has a wide range of applications and a wide range of spheroidization treatment processes. High-magnesium series nodulizers are suitable for cupola smelting and molten iron with a sulfur content of 0.06%-0.09%, and the addition amount is between 1.6% and 2.0%.
Low-aluminum spheroidizers are used for castings that are prone to subcutaneous pore defects and castings that require aluminum content in molten iron.
The spheroidizer produced by pure Ce and pure La has pure iron liquid with few inclusions and round graphite balls after spheroidization. The spheroidizer produced by yttrium-based heavy rare earth is suitable for large-section castings, delaying the decline of spheroidization and preventing blocky graphite. Low-silicon spheroidizer is suitable for foundries that use a large amount of recycled materials; nickel-magnesium spheroidizer is used for high-nickel austenitic ductile iron.
