Silicon barium inoculant

Silicon-barium inoculant is a composite multi-element alloy artificially smelted. The silicon and barium elements in the silicon-barium inoculant can be matched and combined in a targeted ratio to meet the requirements of steelmaking or casting. Silicon-barium inoculant is a block metallurgical material made by blending silicon powder and barium powder according to the required ratio and then smelting steel in a high-temperature furnace.

Functions of silicon-barium inoculant

1. Refine graphite, type a graphite in gray iron castings, and for ductile iron castings, it can make the graphite in ductile iron fine and round, and improve the spheroidization grade;

2. It can reduce the supercooling of molten iron, the precipitation of graphite, significantly reduce the tendency of white cast iron, reduce the relative hardness, and improve the cutting performance of castings;

3. Strong anti-recession ability, the anti-recession time is twice that of 75 silicon, and the amount of silicon-barium inoculant added is less than half of that of 75 silicon-iron inoculant, while preventing the associated spheroidization recession;

4. Low wall thickness sensitivity, improve cross-section uniformity, and reduce shrinkage tendency;

5. Stable chemical composition, uniform processing particle size, small deviation in composition and quality;

6. Low melting point (below 1300°), easy to absorb melt during inoculation, and little slag.

Silicon barium inoculant is widely used in metallurgy, machinery industry, additives for iron, steel and non-ferrous metals and alloying agents, reduction degassing and purification to improve the mechanical properties and application effects of materials.
